Each year in Los Angeles a gaming convention known as The Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) is held. Over the past few years, E3 has become very popular with gaming companies, consumers and everyone in-between. The convention attracts thousands of people each year from around the globe, and has become the most successful gaming convention to date.

The Sims 3 was featured at the Electronic Arts presentaion on 14th of July 2008. Included in the presentation was the first trailer for the game, later TheSims3.com also updated with all new screenshots.
